MOUNTING

MOUNTING

Depending on the size of the artworks, their intended use and client preferences, we mount enlargements to firm bases of various characteristics and types. These can be such materials as foam board, PVC, acrylic glass and Dibond.
Exposures and prints can be protected from the damaging effects of atmospheric factors by appropriate laminates with UV filters: matt, satin or glossy.
We deliver to you works ready to hang, and therefore in each case, depending on the type of finishing, dimensions of the piece and anticipated exhibition conditions, we apply a suitable hanging system.

FOAM

Foam boards of the Kapa or Foam-x types are a very light, quite firm finishing material with a smooth and even surface. They are most often used for mounting quite small artworks intended for indoor exhibition. Photographs can in addition be protected by appropriate laminate: matt, satin or glossy.

PVC

Foam PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a perfectly smooth, fairly light, thermoplastic material used for mounting to medium formats intended for indoor exhibition. Photographs can also be protected with a suitable laminate: matt, satin or glossy.

Available thicknesses:
1, 3, 5 and 10 mm

RECOMMENDED APPLICATION: works without frames up to 100 x 70 cm format intended for medium-term indoor and outdoor exhibitions (recommended for indoor exhibition).

ACRYLIC GLASS

Acrylic glass (plexiglass) is a fairly light, rigid and durable material with a very smooth surface and a high sheen. It can be transparent, with a UV filter or tinted, available in a wide colour gamut with various transparency factors.
For mounting artworks, white or black acrylic glass is generally used; this is valued for its perfectly smooth and shiny edges. A correctly selected glass subtly emphasises the tonality of the work.
As a result of its visual properties, durability and great flexibility, colourless acrylic glass often replaces glass, and it is therefore used in finishing by sticking it onto the face of the work, particularly in sandwich-type finishing (acrylic – acrylic, acrylic – Dibond).

Available widths:
Covered acrylic glass: 3, 5 and 10 mm
Pressed (extruded) acrylic glass: 2, 3, 5, 3 and 10 mm

RECOMMENDED APPLICATION: medium and large-format artworks with no frame intended for long-term exhibition, both indoor and outdoor.

READY TO HANG: we provide each artwork with a hanging system adjusted to the dimensions of the work and exhibition conditions. As standard these are: aluminium hangers or strips of a selected profile (the distance between the work and the exhibition surface).

DIBOND

Dibond, a composite of two aluminium sheets connected by a polyethylene sheet, is the most durable base for mounting photographs. Its greatest assets are firmness, resistance to bending and other mechanical damage as well as corrosion, its relatively light weight and its aesthetic appearance.
Photographs can be additional protected by a suitable laminate: matt, satin or glossy.

Available widths:
2 and 3 mm

RECOMMENDED APPLICATION: artworks without a frame from small to medium formats intended for long-term exhibitions, both indoor and outdoor.

READY TO HANG: we provide each artwork with a hanging system adjusted to the dimensions of the work and exhibition conditions. As standard these are: aluminium hangers or strips of a selected profile (the distance between the work and the exhibition surface).

SANDWICH

Sandwich

A "sandwich" is a combination of a high-class acrylic glass finish affixed to the face of the work with an additional lining of the back with acrylic glass, PVC or dibond. Using such materials guarantees that the work will be rigid and durable, with unique results.
A photograph placed under high-quality acrylic glass acquires a characteristic depth and sheen, achieving an exceptional impression of increased contrast and colour saturation.
Using additional material on the back of the work not only stiffens the artwork, but depending on its thickness, colour scheme and sheen also brings out the piece's character and strengthens its colours.

We offer the following types of sandwich:
acrylic glass – acrylic glass
acrylic glass – PVC
acrylic glass – dibond.

GLASS

GLASS

The technology we have developed, achieving perfection in finishing of details and aesthetically phased edges of glass, means that we are able as few others on the market to offer you one of the most valued and striking finishes.
Glass is a firm material resistant to scratching and with a perfectly smooth surface, and its visual properties make it ideal for affixing to the face of the artwork.
A specialist, transparent glue means that the photograph fits neatly to the glass. The artwork takes on a characteristic depth and shine, and an exceptional impression of strengthened contrast and colour saturation is produced.
We use a high quality of float-type glass as standard, and there is also an option of choosing anti-reflective glass.

Available thicknesses:
Float glass: 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10 mm
Anti-reflective glass: 2 and 3 mm

RECOMMENDED APPLICATION: mainly colour enlargements of exposures by Durst Lambda with a maximum format of 70 x 100 cm intended for long-term indoor exhibitions.

READY TO HANG: we provide each artwork with a hanging system adjusted to the dimensions of the work and exhibition conditions. As standard these are: aluminium hangers or strips of a selected profile (the distance between the work and the exhibition surface).
